Home > Anger > Get Mad at the Reason You Smoke Anger: Get Mad at the Reason You Smokeby Anonymous Leeds, I had a 'best'friend for 18 years. We both started smoking together at age 15 (that was 18 yrs ago) - she smokes a lot more than I did in the end - me smoking about 5 a day on the days i didnt see her.... she smoked practically non-stop and I found I smoked as much as her while I was with her. This year she did some awful unforgivable things to me and behind my back and when i found out I was devastated - needless to say I no longer have anything to do with her. I have wanted to give up for many years and so has she, but she has never tried and whenever I try she seems to be the one who says 'oh one more wont harm you' and i never lasted more than two days. This time I have lasted 4 weeks and the way I have done it is to take all that hate and anger and resentment that I feel towards her and link it to smoking - I think how much i do not want to be like her and every time I think of having a cigarette I picture her with hers in her mouth and the craving stops!! I think how much I let her ruin my life for so long and I think how much i have let smoking ruin my health and finances for so long and this mental connection is working for me so far!
