Anger: Your Cigarette Companion is Killing You

Having a full pack of cigarettes is like having a companion by my side. Anytime something out of the ordinary occurs (good or bad), I look to my "friend" for comfort, support and an uncanny ability to make me feel completely and utterly relaxed. My companion never fails me and it never complains or nags about anything. Whenever that pack gets down to 3 or 4 cigarettes, my priorities immediately change. "Where is my next pack going to come from?" suddenly becomes my no.1 priority. I am not about to face another daily challenge until I know for sure that my friend is going to be there to help me get through the day. I wrote these words late at night some time ago and taped them to the wall. The next morning I got up and read the words outloud. Then I thought" What A crock of S--t!!! This so-called "companion" is slowly killing my body and fogging up my mind. Don't say "quit smoking". Say "stop smoking". When you use the word quit, it has a negative annotation. To stop smoking, you have to do it cold turkey, to do it cold turkey you first have to ask yourself, "do I love my body?" If your answer is "yes", then you're 1/2 way there already. Resolve to stop smoking once and for all because smoking deteriorates your body and alters the composition and the function of your many systems. Cigarette smoke contains poison. Set a date and stop doing it cold turkey. Before your date, go visit a hospital, a nursing home or whatever establishment and find a person with emphysema. Sit down with them for a bit and ask them how they are. Notice how people with emphysema spend most of their energy just trying to get oxygen? Tell yourself "That's going to me if I do not stop smoking!" When you stop smoking, you must immediately start jogging! Start slow and work yourself up to a good pace. You'l feel better, you'll smell better and you'll even perform better in bed! I can defenitely guarantee that! A lot of people cannot stop because they weak! Tell yourself that you are not one of those people and that you will regain control of what happens to your body. You will PREVAIL!!!! Use lots of common sense.
