Clean: Nicotine Walls
by Annette

I went to my mother-in-law's house for a week. While I was
there, I cleaned her walls that were covered with nicotine. She
smokes along with two other people in the house, so there was a
lot of nicotine to clean. I used Oxyclean and was having to
spray the walls at least twice to get it off. I started thinking
about how hard it was to get it off the walls, and I got real
scared about what my lungs must be like. I imagined that they
must be almost like charcoal. I've been smoking for 30 years.
So, when I went home, I told my husband I thought I'd quit and
that was on July 21. I have not had one since. They still smell
good to me, when they are being smoked, but if I want one, I
just think of the nicotine dripping off the walls and I get over
it real fast. I keep a lot of sunflower seeds around to keep my
fingers busy.
