Deep Breathing: Inhale Quick and Deep

Inhaling exactly as if you're inhaling a cigarette - fingers in
same position if necessary - but with nothing in your hand.
Sounds silly, but it actually does help. You inhale quick and
deep as if you're inhaling a cigarette. Hold your breath in as
you would if you were holding in your smoke and then exhale out
like you're blowing smoke out. It's just like having the smoke,
but with fresh air. Combined with a patch, or some kind of
nictoine-replacement-therapy to start with, it really helps with
the psychological battle and the nicotine therapy helps with the
physical addiction.
Works for me, and helps get past the craving - which is the
biggest hurdle. Good luck.
