Exercise: Quit Smoking AND Lose Weight

My addiction to cigarettes was strange. I was nearly a chain smoker, at more than a pack a day. However, if circumstances didn't allow me to smoke (family events, work, ect) I could easily go a day without smoking and not suffer too badly. It was like when I picked up a pack of cigarettes I got an overwhelming urge to smoke and smoke, more than I should have. I'd been smoking for only about four years and was 18 at the time when I decided to quit. Once before I had gone four months without smoking, just on a whim, so I knew it could be easily done. One day I decided "to hell with this" and thew out my last pack of cigarettes (camel filters..). I drove to the gym, ran a few miles, and worked out. I'd always tried to keep myself in shape, but I figured out that I could use exercise as a way to quit smoking. After a good workout I'd feel great, and not want a cigarette. I'd be able to go all day at work (where I can't smoke) without smoking, and at the end of the day when the urge to smoke was very noticable, I'd hit the gym instead of buying a pack of smokes. Within a month I no longer felt like I needed to smoke, and I lost around 15 lbs.
