Get Support: Smoky Situations

Well after reading the many different methods used I found out that for myself it was a mixture of many. But I agree that you have to be mentally prepared. Before you would do it you have to know what you will be going through so you will be able to fight the cravings more efficiently. In what so I called panic attacks I used to phone my dear friend Charlie, who quitted himself. Luckily he had the patience to listen and tell me the right things to encourage me not to start again. One phrase I liked alot was that this is only temporarly and believe me the craving will go and you will find it will be well worthed. Very often the thought of having these cravings all my life when quiting used to scare me, so assurance that they will go was a consolation and calmed me down. Another method was to sit down and write on paper the benefits of stopping smoking and very often be angry with myself for allowing myself to spend so much money on something that stinks and killing me slowly. I used to leave these papers running around so i could read them over and over again. I found money wasnt the issue at the earlier stage as just buying a packet at that moment seems like great relief, but after the first month I rewarded myself by buying something I have always wanted and costed the same as much I have saved. The earlier stage was also avoiding places or people that could get me smoking again. The good news is that now after just 3 months I feel I have kicked the habit once and for all and the cravings that I thought where going to haunt me all my life dissapeared for good, and I feel I can face any smoky situation. So my dear friend Charlie was right. The cravings have gone and I feel so good, with more money in my pocket, tasting food better and breathing easier.
