Gradual Smoking Reduction: Stay Strong and Don't Smoke

by Trisha

Well, I am 24 and I started smoking when I was 12. All of my friends smoke and I was smoking about a pack a day. I got a new apt. and meant for it to be non-smoking and it is. I can not smoke in or around my house which was good. I slowly started dropping to about a 1/2 pack a day. Then one day I said "You know what, I am not going to smoke today" and I didn't. So one day went by then the second day then the third and soo on. I wont pick up a cigarette now just because I have come so far now. Well it has only been about 5 days and that is sooo good for me. I was one of those people that always had a cigarette with a beer, always after food everything....and I never thought that I would be able to quit and I have. After I got past the first 3 days I think I was fine. Now I just have to make sure that I stay strong and dont smoke. After I smell my friends I dont think I will be smoking.
