Nicotine Gum: Each Time is Easier

by Kim

This and That! I decided to quit this year before I turn 40 in August. I am on my 5th attempt and this one seems to be going best of all. I went to a hypnotist and listen to my self-hypnosis tape daily. A friend who does accupuncture has given me 3 lung cleansing treatments. I'm also taking an herbal lung support tonic to help clear my lungs faster. I am using nicotine gum 5 or 6 times a day. I really thing the repeated quits have helped more than anything, I know what to expect a little better and I have a little more experience going without a cigarette. Don't forget to make a written list of your top reasons to quit and re-read it at least daily. There is a lot of online help available too for both education and support. Nuturing my anger at the tobacco companies seems to have helped also. I have tried the patch before but seem to have developed an allergy to it (large welts for 3 or 4 days at each patch location) so no patch this time.
