Quit Smoking for Someone Else: Quit For Your Kids

by Rebecca

I have smoked for 3 years now. Beofre that I had smoked for 12 and quit for 4. I don't know why I started again, but I did. I have wanted to quit for some time now, because I don't want to die and leave my two young kids without a mother. It is soooo hard to quit. It actually hurts. My husband wanted me to quit too, but he dreaded the first and second days, because I become such a witch. That's usually when he gives in to the devil and lets me have one. It doesn't help me much though. I truly enjoy smoking and like to sit and light one up, relax, think, talk on the phone. I just enjoy my cigarette. Really! If it weren't for my kids I wouldn't quit. I have tried everything to quit. I always break down, like I said quitting really hurts your body. I wanted to try that quit in 7 days pill thing, but I didn't have the $90 it cost to get it. I found a $19.99 product at a Shopko by my house tht claimed the same thing. I bought it. I started in the afternoon on Wednesday. I didn't smoke the rest of the day. Thursday I puffed on one with my husband and then smoked my own. Friday I had none. Saturday I had none. I was on my way to quitting. Thie whole time I had to keep busy. Computer, tv, shower, color my hair, tweeze my eye brows. I felt like I couldn't go anywhere for fear that I would trigger a craving. Like I said, It is physically painful. I don't want to quit...I have to!!!! That is what I keep telling myself every day so I don't light up. If I can do it. The person with absolutely no will power...then you can do it too. If not for you then someone else who cares about you.
