Triggers: Remove Your Smoking Triggers

by Ed Killeen

Ocala, Florida
United States

I made a pledge to myself and family that on a certain day in a certain month that I would give up cigarettes I had finally realized that I had programmed myself to smoke at certain times of the day, in certain places doing certain jobs. I realized I was addicted and was giving myself a dose of nicotine when my system needed it. I read a great deal about the addiction, changed my life style to eliminate things that promoted smoking, such as after coffee, eating, watching TV. I took vitimins that helped me get by the cravings. After I became a non-smoker, I returned to my original lifestyle, and drank coffee and all the triggers that set off my cravings, and have no desire to take up smoking again. Other people that smoke around me doesn't bother me. I smoked for 46 years, and I made a commitment to stop. I haven't covered all the details due to space, but just to let folks know it can be done, no matter how long you smoked. All it takes is a desire and a solid commitment, to make yourself smoke free. Smoking never solved a problem, it only creates them.
